Let's end June on a high note with another edition of the mailbag.
Jonathan in Westerville, Ohio: Ohio State picked up five recruits from June 20-24. Have you seen anything similar in the recent past?
Craig: Jonathan, the Ohio State coaches can most definitely chalk that stretch up as a good one. The Buckeyes coming off their big Senior Advanced Camp scored six actual commitments if you count the addition of defensive end Jonathan Newsome (Cleveland/Glenville), ... Read More

By now everyone knows that Ohio State hasn't had the best of luck in the last two BCS National Championship games.
They were beaten so badly by Florida that the SEC fans immediately began to claim that Ohio State couldn't compete with the big boys in college football.
And last year against LSU, the rebuilding Buckeyes found themselves in another BCS Championship game—one that they probably should not have been in.

Leslie chasing new feats at Ohio State
With Ohio State's latest men's track and field recruiting class and its surplus of returning athletes, second-year head coach Robert Gary believes the Buckeyes could become one of the top teams in the country.
One reason for the optimism is how Gary, a former U.S. Olympian in the steeplechase, is striving to keep Ohio's top athletes in state. Like football coach Jim Tressel and basketball coach Thad Matta, ... Read More

Jeremy Crabtree of Rivals.com, via USAToday.com, writes that Ohio State is sitting at 22 commitments after picking up five more pledges in the past four days. It's the same type of tear they went on in late April, when they received five commitments in seven days. While that was impressive, the run the past few days has been nothing short of amazing.
Doug Harris of the Dayton Daily News writes that Ohio State ... Read More

On paper, the thin kind that's easily ripped, crumpled and thrown away, the 2008 football season shapes up to be another history maker in Columbus. Of course if magazine predictions hold true, the rest of the country will be tired of seeing Ohio State play in the national title game.
The first of the college football preseason magazines arrived in the mail Thursday, and Phil Steele loves Ohio State.
So much so, the magazine picked the Buckeyes ... Read More
