Taylor Graham said he has always been a big fan of Ohio State football, that it was his dream to attend his father’s alma mater. But he didn’t think it would ever become a reality.
On Tuesday, it did.
Wheaton North’s 6-4, 211-pound quarterback made a commitment to Ohio State, only a few days after receiving a scholarship offer and visiting the campus. He chose Ohio State over Michigan State, UCLA, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado and Duke.

TUSCALOOSA -- At first glance, the change may not be obvious.
In the annual Tuscaloosa News’ Best College Football Rankings, which attempt to measure the nation’s top programs every way imaginable, there’s no change at the top this year.
Ohio State is No. 1, followed by Southern California, just like 2008.
After them, though, things are vastly different in terms of those rising and falling.
It begins at No. 3, where Alabama has improved the most of any program since Nick Saban ... Read More

There's this little problem with a soft nonconference schedule: It only amps up expectations.
Case in point: Penn State. The Lions' non-con schedule is the weakest in the Big Ten, and the league schedule includes the other two top teams in the league (Ohio State and Iowa) visiting Happy Valley.
In other words, a strong defense, a fifth-year senior quarterback and a whole lot of championship hopes.
"You can't get into scheduling things; that's not how you win football games," Penn ... Read More

Jon Sanderson has a history with the Big Ten Conference.
So when the former Ohio State University men's basketball player got the chance to return to the league as a strength and conditioning coach, he didn't waste any time.
Sanderson accepted that post Friday at Michigan, where he will work with the Wolverines' basketball programs and Olympic sports. He replaces Mike Curtis, who left the job after one year to return to his alma mater, Virginia.

Trying to read something into the 76ers' putting Ohio State center B.J. Mullens through a predraft workout today?
Don't.
A source familiar with the situation told the Daily News that the Sixers remain focused on using the No. 17 pick in the NBA's June 25 draft to select a perimeter player, either a point guard or a shooting guard.
The workout for Mullens appears to be a case of the Sixers' honoring a long-standing commitment. At this point, there ... Read More

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- What do you get when you take three dozen of the best college basketball players in America, 12 of the top college coaches and bring them into one gymnasium for a good old-fashioned tryout?

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio prosecutor is opposing former Ohio State football star Maurice Clarett's request for early release from prison to pursue an NFL career.
Clarett says the sooner he can be released, the sooner he can make a comeback, possibly in the NFL. He says he's heard from teams while he's been in prison.
But first, Clarett must overcome the objections of Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien, who says the former Buckeyes standout hasn't made a strong ... Read More
