Below are three reasons the Buckeyes can beat Michigan — and three reasons they can’t.

1. All that’s swirling around the program should galvanize and energize the Buckeyes

Luke Fickell knows these could be his last days on the job at Ohio State, but he had all the right answers this week when talking about this game. It’s all that matters, and his players have taken on the same mindset. The pressure is suddenly all on Michigan as it tries to position itself for a BCS at-large bid and snap Ohio State’s six-game win streak in the series. Brady Hoke has backed up most of his claims about returning Michigan to glory in his first year on the job, and both Hoke and his players know that a lot of what they’ve done over the last three months will lose its luster if Michigan loses to Ohio State. The Buckeyes haven’t put even three good quarters together in more than a month, but they have the talent to win this game if they can cut down on mistakes and keep Denard Robinson in the pocket. The team with nothing to lose should play like it and position itself to win it in the fourth quarter.

2. Recent history says the Buckeyes have Michigan’s number

If Michigan jumps out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead, maybe the tide of the entire season really……
