By Joe Dorish (Yahoo Sports) — These are the best NBA players from Ohio State University. Players are ranked by their career scoring averages in the NBA. To date, some 40 players from Ohio State have gone on to play in the NBA.

All Ohio State players who averaged 12.0 or more points per game in the NBA are listed. Four of the players on the list are in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

My favorite NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, drafted Dennis Hopson out of Ohio State with the third overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft. Hopson averaged 13.0 points per game for us for three seasons, and 10.9 points per game in his NBA career, which is short of making this list.

John Havlicek averaged 14.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game at Ohio State from 1960 to 1962. He won a championship in 1960 with teammates Jerry Lucas and Bob Knight. In the 1962 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics took Havlicek with the seventh overall pick…..
