COLUMBUS – The last time the Purdue men’s basketball team won in Columbus was 1998 and that hasn’t changed as the Boilermakers fell to the Buckeyes in overtime 80-72 Tuesday evening in Big Ten action. Evan Turner ended the night with 26 points including 6 in OT while William Buford had 22 and B.J. Mullens chipped in with seventeen.
Ohio State improved to 16-5 overall and 6-4 in Big Ten play, winning their last 3 games – all Big Ten members. Purdue slips to 17-5 and 6-3. The game was tied up thirteen times while having 18 lead changes
Purdue held onto a small lead at the half, 32-29, but Ohio State faught back while shooting 60 percent from the floor for the night.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers will travel to Columbus on Saturday for an 8pm tip time in another Big Ten game.
