By: Tom Dienhart via btn.com -- Clemson’s Dabo Swinney is a genius–at least when it comes to spicing up spring football games. Let’s face it: These spring “games” often are little more than glorified scrimmages to appease and tease fans. The interest? Minimal—aside from the true cognoscenti.
Many coaches don’t like them, preferring to run a scrimmage or just conduct another practice for fear of injury. Lack of depth is another reason many coaches don’t like intrasquad scrimmages, as it often makes it ... Read More

By Daniel Kock via bleacherreport.com -- Ohio State fans should feel extremely confident as to what they'll see out of their offense in 2012 and moving forward under new head coach Urban Meyer.
Meyer's resume speaks for itself. Everywhere he's been, he's won and his offenses have put up huge numbers.
Meyer has won two BCS National Championships. He's won 13 games three times in his career and is the only BCS coach to do it in back-to-back years ... Read More

By: David Mayo via mlive.com -- The adjective in “mock draft”is the key to any such discussion in the NBA, where draft order isn't determined until the ping-pong balls do their work in the lottery hopper.
Still, ESPN peppers the mock argument by assuming the top three picks remain unchanged, as well as the final overall standings, so in Chad Ford's third mock draft of the year, that means the Detroit Pistons would pick eighth and select– drumroll, please – Ohio State big ... Read More

By Brian Bennett via ESPN.com -- When it comes to college football video boards these days, bigger -- and sharper -- is better.
Ohio State is the latest school to upgrade its technological gameday experience. The school announced Tuesday that it will undertake a $7 million improvements project at Ohio Stadium, replacing the 11-year-old scoreboard and audio system.
The new high-def Panasonic screen will measure 42-feet-by-124-feet; the current scoreboard is 30-feet-by-90-feet and is, gasp, not in HD. The board will be flanked by a cluster ... Read More

By Doug Lesmerises via The Plain Dealer -- In a Sporting News story published Monday on Ohio State coach Urban Meyer's tenure at Florida, the program Meyer left winds up sounding a lot like the program he inherited. And none of that should be of particular surprise.
The only problem is for anyone viewing Meyer above or below the spectrum of successful major college football coaches, for good or bad. He's no more a saint or a sinner than most two-time national championship ... Read More

By RANDY COVITZ via The Kansas City Star --NEW ORLEANS -- The Ohio State basketball team may be in the Final Four, but they realize they’re sharing the headlines back in Columbus.
Spring football started this week.
But the beleaguered gridiron Buckeyes can thank their basketball brethren for helping repair the tarnished image of Ohio State athletics and, for a few months this winter, taking fans’ minds off a turbulent football season.
Football coach Jim Tressel was forced out last May for lying about NCAA ... Read More
