ESPN will have a limited screening of the highly anticipated matchup between the University of Southern California and The Ohio State University in 3D, the network said Monday.

The game will be ESPN’s first 3D telecast after more than two years of testing and research.

“The results of this research will enable ESPN to quantify what it takes to produce, transmit and enable the 3D experience for our fans,” Anthony Bailey, vice president of emerging technologies for ESPN, said in a statement.

Locally, the 3D broadcast will be shown at the Galen Center on USC’s campus. Tickets will not be sold for this event, but fans will have the opportunity to win tickets through 710 ESPN Los Angeles.

Other sites include theaters in Columbus, Ohio; Hartford, Conn.; and Hurst, Texas.

ESPN will employ separate production buy drugs online no prescription trucks, technical crews and on-air commentators for the 3D production. Mark Jones and Bob Davie will announce the 3D game.

Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit and reporter Lisa Salters will work on the telecast on ESPN and ESPN HD.

USC, ranked fourth in the Associated Press’ preseason poll, will travel to Ohio State, ranked sixth, on September 12. The two met last season, with the Trojans defeating the Buckeyes 35-3 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
