The Ohio State coaching staff extended a flurry of scholarship offers late last week. Bucknuts.com had the news first that the OSU staff had offered offensive lineman Chris Carter Jr. (Cleveland, Ohio/John F. Kennedy), defensive end/offensive lineman Chase Farris (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) and tight end Nick Vannett (Westerville, Ohio/Central).

All three are certainly strong candidates to become Buckeyes, but the first to fall Ohio State’s way may be Farris.

The 6-foot-6 and 265-pound Farris was a starter at defensive tackle his sophomore year. He started at defensive end and offensive right tackle during his junior season. Farris made close to 50 tackles. He had eight sacks and 20 tackles for loss.

“In college I think I’ll play defensive end,” Farris said. “But it could be tight end or buying pills online offensive line. I’d rather play defensive end or tight end. Those are the two positions I want to play.”

Farris had scholarship offers from Indiana, Duke, Toledo and Buffalo before the Buckeyes joined the party. To say Farris was happy with the OSU offer would be an understatement.

“I was sitting in english class (on Friday) and I got called to go see my coach,” Farris said. “He gave me a hug and said Ohio State had offered.

“I called (Ohio State assistant) coach (Taver) Johnson and he told me that they had been talking about me in a meeting and were going to offer me. I was so happy I couldn’t stop smiling.”

Farris definitely has becoming a Buckeye on his mind…..
