Taylor Graham said he has always been a big fan of Ohio State football, that it was his dream to attend his father’s alma mater. But he didn’t think it would ever become a reality.

On Tuesday, it did.

Wheaton North’s 6-4, 211-pound quarterback made a commitment to Ohio State, only a few days after receiving a scholarship offer and visiting the campus. He chose Ohio State over Michigan State, UCLA, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado and Duke.

“I had all the information I needed to make my decision,” Graham said. “I felt comfortable. It wasn’t just because my dad went there. I felt God led me there.”

Graham impressed college coaches even though he played only half of the 2008 season because of an injury. His father Kent was the Sun-Times Player of the Year in 1986 while leading Wheaton North to a state championship. He played at Notre Dame and Ohio State, then had a 11-year career in the NFL.

Graham hadn’t heard anything from Ohio State until he attended a Buckeyes camp two weeks ago. He impressed coach Jim Tressel and received an offer last Thursday. After visiting the campus with his father last weekend, he knew Ohio State was the online prescription drugs place for him.
