Though they fought to the end, at the end, it wasn’t enough as the second Cialis ranked Ohio State Buckeyes held off the Iowa Hawkeyes 73-68 Tuesday night at the Carver Hawkeye arena in mens basketball.

Melsahn Basabe lead Iowa in scoring with 22 points and 13 rebounds, which was his best outing as a Hawkeye.  Ohio State was led by ‘super’ freshman Jared Sullinger with 24 points and 12 boards.

It was a case of two games, as Iowa lead by 6 at halftime, 35-29.  Problem is, in the second half, Ohio State went on a 16-0 run to break the game open.   Zach McCabe and Matt Gatens led a charge at the end, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the hole that was dug.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery was proud of the effort of his team.  “We aren’t satisfied with this.  We are proud of how we played against a great team. We just need to get over the hump.”  And the 16-0 Ohio State run?  “I can live with small scoring droughts, as they are part of the game.  I can’t live with the dumb turnovers that add up”

The Hawkeyes are now 7-7, and will travel to West Lafayette to play Purdue on Sunday.
