Shaker Heights, Ohio – Shaker Heights junior lineman Antonio Underwood thought the offer was coming, but even throughout his unofficial visit Monday, he wasn’t sure until he sat down in Ohio State coach Jim Tressel’s office.
“It was really Cialis Online buy just crazy,” Underwood said. “It was mind blowing. The steps they took me through the whole day showing me the facilities, and then sat me down, said they wanted me to be a Buckeye, it was real exciting.
“I had a feeling it was coming. There was always that doubt in the back of my mind, though. It was a surprise for my grandfather [Harold Underwood]. He actually almost cried.”
Antonio Underwood gave OSU his nonbinding oral commitment and joined John F. Kennedy lineman Chris Carter in the Buckeyes’ 2011 recruiting class. Carter also committed Monday.
Underwood (6-3, 290) plays offensive and defensive tackle for the Raiders, who were 1-9 last season. He expects to play center or guard at OSU.
“His leverage and power are great,” Shaker Heights coach Anthony Watkins said. “He has great feet. He’s not a giant. He’s probably a good center, a great guard. He understands leverage very well, has good arm reach and once he punches into you, he’s very powerful.”
Watkins said he also received offers from Toledo, Kent State, Akron and Miami (Ohio). Illinois, Michigan, Colorado and others expressed interest. “I really enjoyed the campus and at the end of the day for me I can’t see myself playing anywhere else,” Underwood said.
