EAST LANSING, Mich. — No. 20 Ohio State finished off its 12-3 victory over Michigan State (18-20) in emphatic fashion on Saturday. The Buckeyes (25-11) scored two runs in the sixth inning.

Ohio State’s best inning was the fourth. In the inning, Lauren Kramer gave up one run on a double by senior Rebecca Schultz. Later that inning, two runs came in when Whitney Cooper homered and a run came in when Dee Dee Hillman singled.

Megan Coletta drove in four Buckeyes runners. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Coletta homered in the fifth inning scoring Leah Ledford and Katie Simonton and singled in the sixth inning scoring Alicia Herron.

Freshman Melanie Nichols was a workhorse in the circle while bagging the victory for Ohio State. She pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out five.

The Buckeyes offense was spurred by a home run from senior Sam Marder in the fifth, in addition to Cooper’s and Coletta’s home runs.

Kramer took the loss for Michigan State. She went four innings, gave up one walk, struck out two, and allowed six runs.

Michigan State brought out the artillery in the fifth inning, but by then it was too little too late. In the fifth, Nichols gave up two runs on a double by Kylene Hopkins. Later that inning, a run came in cheap adipex without a prescription when Jessica Bracamonte reached on a fielding error by second baseman Cooper.

The Buckeyes pummeled Spartans pitching as five hitters combined for seven hits, eight RBIs and seven runs scored to help lead Ohio State to victory.

Michigan State and Ohio State play again on Sunday, April 18.
