The third-ranked Ohio State wrestling team defeated No. 19 Edinboro University, 34-12, in a Sunday dual meet at Perrysburg High School outside Toledo.

The Buckeyes won the first seven bouts — three by major decision, two by pin, one by technical fall, and one by a Fighting Scot forfeit — to jump out to a 34-0 lead.  Edinboro managed to win the last three matches — one by pin — but it was not enough to surmount Ohio State’s lead.

“Overall, it was a great day for the Buckeyes,” according to head coach Tom Ryan. “There cheap drugs was a great crowd and the team wrestled with a lot of energy at every weight class. We pushed the action and that’s a big step for us at several weight classes.”

The Perrysburg dual meet attracted 2,325 fans, and is part of an ongoing program by Ohio State to hold  wrestling events at various locations around the state of Ohio. The intent is to bring Big Ten college wrestling to fans not able to travel to Columbus, and also serves as a recruiting tool and publicity generator for the Buckeyes’ wrestling program.
