Deadspin posted this interesting tidbit before the Ohio State-Siena game about a supposed Thad Matta offspring ragging on Siena.

The friends buy generic drugs online of “Colin Matta” were supposedly so upset by his Siena bashing that they posted his phone number around the Siena campus, encouraging Siena fans to call him and say not nice things.

Then this piece went up later explaining how, in fact, Ohio State’s basketball coach doesn’t have a son that old. Or a son at all.

I wish I had an answer to this. I was sent a copy of the original paper, with the phone number on it. I called the number and it was, not surprisingly, disconnected. A phone number search showed that it was at one time a cell phone in the Boston area.
