By: John Cupps (BuckeyeCountry.net) — The latest AP & USA Today Polls were released today with the top four spots remaining unchanged. The Florida Gators claimed the top spot again in each poll while Texas, Alabama and LSU close behind. Virgina Tech, even with one loss, jumped over undefeated Boise State and ended up this week at number five. The Ohio State Buckeyes left Indiana with a 33-14 thumping of the Hoosiers in Big Ten action, and moved up from 9 last week in both polls to no. 8 in the USA Today poll and idle in the AP. The Buckeyes (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten) moved Buy Cipro to 31-3 in conference games the past five seasons. The Hoosiers (3-2, 0-2) were looking for more reasons to be encouraged and found few, other than one 80-yard touchdown drive that ended the Buckeyes’ hopes for a third consecutive shutout.
The Michigan Wolverines, after pulling off a close one against Indiana last week, came up short in overtime again the Michigan State Spartans 26-20. The polls were not kind to them either as the blue and maze were booted from both.
