COLUMBUS, Ohio — Cleveland Central Catholic grad Jantel Lavender added another award to one of the best careers in the history of Big Ten women’s basketball when on Monday she was named the Big Ten Player of the Year for the third straight season.

While leading Ohio State to a sixth straight conference Levitra pill whithout prescription title, Lavender, a 6-foot-4 center, led the conference in scoring again, averaging 20.9 ppg, and was third in rebounding at 10.4 rpg. The Buckeyes also have won six straight conference player of the year awards, with Lavender following the only previous three-time winner, center Jessica Davenport, who won it from 2005-07.

Lavender has scored in double figures in all 97 of her college games, the longest streak in the country, and she leads the nation with 18 games of at least 10 points and 10 rebounds this season. She was joined on the All-Big Ten first-team by teammate and point guard Samantha Prahalis, who was the only other unanimous selection for the team with a conference-best 8.1 assists per game.

Ohio State, the No. 1 seed, opens Big Ten Tournament play at 6 p.m. Friday in Indianapolis against the winner of the Indiana-Illinois opening-round game.
