Columbus -- Ohio State receiver Ray Small considered leaving early for the NFL, but he didn't like the way he would have been remembered as a Buck- eye.
"I couldn't leave as the bad guy," Small, a Glenville High pills online grad, said Friday. "I wanted to show the world I can do it. I didn't want to go out on that note."
"That note" concerned Small's suspension late last season for repeated violations of ... Read More

CHAMPAIGN -- Hardcore college football fans pay close attention to spring battles at positions like backup defensive end and nickel back in the secondary.
But whenever Ohio State Buckeyes fans gather, it doesn’t take long for the conversation to zero in on what will happen on Sept. 12.
That’s when Southern Cal comes to Ohio Stadium for a much-anticipated rematch of a game Southern Cal dominated last year, 35-3 on the Trojans’ home turf.
Ohio State hasn’t had the best ... Read More

Spring football is in the air, so let's talk about it.
Listen to Jim Tressel discuss his Ohio State team the day before spring drills began, and you get an indication who he is looking for to step up into a lot of those holes made by graduation and early departures for the NFL.
But of course, the first thought for most OSU fans concerns the maturation of sophomore-to-be Terrelle Pryor at quarterback, especially with his passing.
For Tressel, the ... Read More

COLUMBUS — Ohio State coach Jim Tressel saw a ton of offensive talent either leave via graduation or through early entry for the 2009 NFL Draft. He has holes to fill, but thinks he has the talent to piece together a solid offensive unit. At the receiver position, however, the experience is thin.
The “two Brians,” Robiskie and Hartline, have moved on, leaving the Buckeyes without significant experience at receiver. Roy Hall and Dane Sanzenbacher saw time last ... Read More

COLUMBUS, Ohio—How does a football team improve an offense that lost seven starters and was held without a touchdown in two of its three losses a year ago?
During spring practices, trial-and-error seems to have been the most effective route to composing a new group of Ohio State linemen, backs and receivers, said offensive coordinator Jim Bollman.

COLUMBUS —
Spring football begins Thursday at Ohio State. The Buckeyes are coming off a 10-3 season that would have felt a lot different had they pulled out a Fiesta Bowl win instead of losing to Texas in the final 16 seconds.
Head Coach Jim Tressel has 10 players who could be drafted into NFL camps later this month, and that leaves a lot of holes to fill and plenty of questions to answer.
Here is the first of five ... Read More

The Ohio State Buckeyes in 2009 are going to rely heavily on a 20-year-old sophomore from Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Luckily for me and all the other Buckeye fans around the world, this 20-year-old sophomore is Terrelle Pryor, a 6'6", 235-pound quarterback.
Pryor is an awesome talent. On Sept. 20, 2008, he threw four touchdowns (an Ohio State record for a freshman) and one interception in his first career start for the Buckeyes. Ohio State beat Troy 28-10. He showed ... Read More

Neither Malcolm Jenkins, Beanie Wells nor James Laurinaitis ran as fast at the NFL Combine as they would have liked. But a quick spin through some post-combine mock drafts has their 40 times not affecting them all that much, it seems.
Some updated mock drafts:
Rob Rang, NFLdraftscout.com - Malcolm Jenkins No. 9; Beanie Wells No. 19; James Laurinaitis No. 29
Don Banks, SI.com - Jenkins No. 9; Laurinaitis No. 23; Wells No. 31

You get accustomed to a lot of things covering Ohio State, but I must say it was still pretty interesting last week to see so many Buckeyes working out for the combine in Columbus. They were laughing together, joking together, and you looked over and said to yourself - first round, first round, first round, second round, maybe second round, probably fourth round, etc., and thought about the several million dollars just hanging out at the Woody.

Sadly for the Ohio State fans, this may be the only time that Terrelle Pryor will catch a pass from another quarterback.
After the Fiesta Bowl, many fans of Buckeye Nation want Pryor to be moved to WR instead of playing QB. This will never happen, simply because there is no one else to Viagra cheap throw to him.
The difference in the game was Todd Boeckman, which allowed Pryor to be used as a WR, because of ... Read More
