Jim Tressel doesn't believe his offense needs to change.
Tressel always tweaks his system to fit his personnel, but when I tried to ask about considering a shift in philosophy - maybe away from his plan to win the field position battle and rely on his special teams in an offense that is less wide-open than other systems - he said he wasn't going to change to Navy's triple option or anything like that.
Eventually, he basically said ... Read More

Since I first became a Buckeye in 2004 there has always been rumblings about Jim Tressel's job following a loss—from that Justin Zwick led defeat at Northwestern to last Saturday's defeat at the hands of the Trojans.
Ohio State fans are passionate, committed to victory, and still hold the rule of hot tempered of Woody Hayes as the golden age of Ohio State football. Spitting, snarling, and screaming along the sidelines, Woody Hayes seemed to be a college rendition ... Read More

After eight long months since the Buckeyes' loss to the Texas Longhorns in the Fiesta Bowl, it is finally time for their 2009 season to begin.
Their opening opponent is no pushover in the Navy Midshipmen, a team which has led the nation in rushing each of the past four seasons.
In Annapolis, there are usually two constants: a heavy running game, and plenty of upperclassmen in the starting lineup. 2009 is no different, with 19 of the 22 starters ... Read More

Nothing has come easy for Aaron Pettrey through his first three seasons at Ohio State, so why should 2009 be any different? The senior finds himself competing with two fellow placekickers for the starting job, and he's the first to say they've hit the ball well. However, the strong-legged Buy Viagra Pettrey still seems set to be the Buckeyes' starter.
Aaron Pettrey has always been modest, but a pronouncement after Ohio State’s kick scrimmage on Aug. 19 could ... Read More

He's one of the no-names at Ohio State University looking to make a name.
That chance will come soon enough.
Brian Rolle is one of the up-and-comers with the Buckeyes. The junior from Immokalee High School is making a strong push to be a starting linebacker.
With former stars A.J. Hawk, Bobby Carpenter and James Laurinaitis in the NFL, it'll be up to Rolle and others to continue the high standards in Columbus.
"We speak of no brain, no name, no worries," ... Read More

COLUMBUS -- Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor didn't look any different, standing at attention with some 100 other scarlet-clad Buckeyes.
But trust coach Jim Tressel. The No. 2 in the team photo snapped Thursday inside Ohio Stadium is nothing like the No. 2 who posed for the camera this past August.
"This year, it's like night and day," Tressel said of his sophomore signal-caller as media day activities wrapped up. "I sat down the other day with (quarterbacks coach) Nick ... Read More

By: Mike Castiglione (SeattlePI.com) -- Ohio State continued its dominance of the Big Ten in 2008, capturing a fourth straight league title and solidifying its stance as one of the elite football programs in the nation.
All things considered, it was quite an accomplishment when you consider the Buckeyes' embarrassing 35-3 loss to USC in the third week of the season. While many pundits wrote OSU off following that showing, the Buckeyes knew they were a better football ... Read More

One of the most hyped up games of the upcoming college football season is now just less than a month away.
Yes, football fans, grab those foam fingers, wash that jersey, and fill that fridge with cold ones, because Ohio State and USC are meeting at "The 'Shoe" on September 12th.
While many prognosticators see the Trojans rolling through Columbus with reckless abandon, this writer sees it a little differently - and there are a few reasons why Ohio State ... Read More

When Chris Wells announced in January 2009 that he was leaving Columbus for the NFL, most Buckeye fans anointed sophomore Dan Herron as the starter and the heir apparent to the great tradition of running backs at Ohio State.
Apparently the directors of the Guaranty Bank SMU Athletic Forum feel the same, as they announced Sunday afternoon their candidates for the 2009 Doak Walker Award. Herron is listed as a candidate for the award which is presented ... Read More

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Here's the plan: Ohio State drops USC by 20 points on Sept. 12 for its first win against a top 10 team Viagra pill whithout prescription in six tries; OSU runs the table in the Big Ten; Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor becomes the second sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy; and in college football's national championship game at the Rose Bowl, the Buckeyes paste Florida so convincingly in the first half that ...
