By John Kampf via News-Herald.com -- Expectations have been high for the Ohio State football team since the day it was announced Urban Meyer was taking over the program.
Some of those expectations, from the most ardent Buckeye fans, might be a little lofty. A quick turnaround from last year's suspension-riddled, drama-laced 6-7 season is desired.
After releasing the his first two-deep depth chart on Wednesday, Meyer outlined what expectations could be for the 2012 season.
"Talent will get you seven or eight wins," Meyer ... Read More

From: Jon Spencer via chillicothegazette.com -- No doubt fans in Florida rejoiced when a frustrated Amare Stoudemire tried to go Mike Tyson on a glass-enclosed fire extinguisher -- and lost.
It not only temporarily removed another, almost Derrick Rose-sized obstacle from their wannabe King James' path to his first NBA ring, it also allowed some Floridians, wallowing for months in self-misery, to live vicariously through Stoudemire's actions.
You see, they'd love to treat Urban Meyer's face -- both of them -- like that fire ... Read More

By Doug Harris via springfieldnewssun.com -- A movement is afoot to alter the way college football crowns its national champion, but Ohio State coach Urban Meyer would prefer to stay with the status quo.
He won two crowns at Florida, beating OSU in 2006 and Oklahoma in 2008. But the BCS championship era may be over. Conference commissioners and other officials are discussing proposals to implement a four-team playoff perhaps as soon as 2014.
“If the purpose is to get a true national champion, ... Read More

By: Chris White via sbnation.com -- It's been a very, very busy recruiting period for Urban Meyer since he took over the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the busy signing period has continued now as the Buckeyes have gotten another two commitments. This time, it's Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas School's Joey Bosa as well as North Carolina Wilson Hunt's Lewis Neal.
Both players are defensive ends though Bosa has mostly played on the strong side and Neal the weak side. It looks like ... Read More

From: bourbonmeyer.com -- There is no punchline here.
I always get a kick out of people, Gator fans or otherwise, who lean forward with anticipation at the mention of Coach Meyer’s name when we speak it. It appears they are always waiting for the dagger or a punch line of some sort, and in this case… there is none.
I had planned on writing this post a while back and for some reason sat on it, thinking; “Well, maybe I’ll wait for just before ... Read More

By: AP via wdtn.com -- COLUMBUS, Ohio - Urban Meyer swats aside the question about his health as if he were a cornerback batting down a wobbly pass.
"I'm taking care of myself. Thanks for asking," he said this week during Ohio State's last few days of spring workouts. "No, we're fine. That's kind of old news."
Then, turning to more pressing issues, he quickly added, "We just have to get our skill a little bit better here and we'll be ready to go."

By Greg Billing via daytondailynews.com -- I was as thrilled as most Ohio State fans when Urban Meyer was hired to replace Jim Tressel as the Buckeyes football coach.
And I’m just as excited to see Wayne High School grad Braxton Miller running Meyer’s points-aplenty spread offense, just imagining the damage it can do to that team up north in November.
But despite all my enthusiasm for the hire and my optimism for opening up the Ohio State playbook beyond the conservative chapter, I ... Read More

By: Terron Sanders via GatorTailgating.com -- I’d like to start this article with a warning, I’m simply going to state MY prerogative, my feelings on Urban Meyer & the Gator football program and what I witnessed and learned during my five years at the University of Florida. If that’s something you feel the need to rebuke, I tell you this….you weren’t shooting in the gym with me.
Since I announced I would be addressing this issue, I have gotten a lot of questions ... Read More

From: pe.com -- Tight ends always played prominent roles in Urban Meyer’s explosive offenses at Utah and Florida.
That’s one of the reasons Riverside North junior Marcus Baugh accepted an offer to play for Meyer at Ohio State. Baugh made his final decision Tuesday night, according to several sources.
“I want to play under Urban Meyer. I love the way he’s going to use me … like Aaron Hernandez,” Baugh told ESPN.com, referring to the Patriots tight end who starred for Meyer at Florida.
Baugh, ... Read More
