It comes with the growing pains of a young team.
Ohio State coach Thad Matta knows this.
Talent and depth only go so far, especially in a Big Ten that has four other teams ranked in the Top 25 (Michigan State, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin) and two more lurking (Purdue ... Read More

By: Scott Dochterman (TheGazette.com) -- Big Ten football schedules had slick manueverability when the league carried an unwieldy number of 11 schools.
Each football program played two permanent rivals annually and faced the other league opponents six times over an eight-year period. That scheduling procedure worked until it got in the way of progress.
In June 2010, the Big Ten voted to unanimously add Nebraska as its 12th member. In football terms that meant two divisions and a new scheduling ... Read More

Since then, the basketball power conference has taken a backseat as the ACC, SEC, Big East and Big 12 have all won national titles.
However, the Big Ten may finally be back.
