By: Thomas Hanlon (BleacherReport.com) –Today, the Ohio State Buckeyes’ six-game winning streak against the rival Michigan Wolverines came to an end with a 40-34 loss in the Big House.

This loss dropped the Buckeyes to a record of 6-6, the six wins being enough to make them eligible for a bowl game if they were to choose to accept a bid to one.

And in my honest opinion, they should turn down any bowl bid that they receive. They don’t deserve it, no matter what the NCAA rules say. Six wins? Even with the circumstances that the program was under this season, that’s pitiful by the standards set at this prestigious university.

But the Buckeyes will get offers to play. Why? Because Buckeyes fans are everywhere, and Buckeyes fans travel. It doesn’t matter if it’s the BCS National Championship Game or the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Buckeye Nation fills the seats and brings ratings.

This season has been very, very disappointing for Buckeyes fans everywhere. Some of our best players were suspended for the first five games of the season (some longer), with an offense that was absolutely anemic most of the time and defensive breakdowns in critical moments of big games.

It is obvious that Luke Fickell will not be the head coach next season in Columbus, Ohio. The guy most everybody wants to take over is former Florida head coach Urban Meyer, and reports (or rumors) are that the contract is all but signed…….
