Going into today's Big Ten Conference match-up with Wisconsin, the Michigan Wolverines had to win at least one of their last two games to be eligible for a bowl game. Now after the Badgers 45-24 thumping today, Michigan MUST defeat Ohio State next Saturday in Ann Arbor's Big House.
After only having two wins last year, Michigan started the 2009 season picking up four straight wins and fans began to wonder if Rich Rodriguez and the Maze and Blue ... Read More

Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi brings a mauler's makeup to the football field, according to Vince Petruziello, his high school best friend and former leading receiver from Lake Catholic. So, not finishing something he started -- like Iowa's stunning season -- is eating Stanzi up.
Iowa was 9-0 with a healthy Stanzi high-wiring the Hawkeyes to five fourth-quarter victories, but when he went down against Northwestern with an ankle injury last ... Read More

Conceivably, a horseshoe can be a crab, an adrenal gland, or even a stadium.
For the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, however, it will transform into the proverbial lion’s den—the place where a defiant Daniel was sent without weapons to meet his fate against overwhelming odds before a packed house.
According to the story, Daniel emerged unharmed because of divine intervention. Is that possible on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio? If you believe so, you are among the few.

COLUMBUS - As they stood next to one another waiting for the game to tip off, William Buford and Julius Wells showed no hint of a past acquaintance. "We said before the game we were going to keep it about business," Wells said. It was the blue-and-gold cheering section in the corner of Value City Arena that gave them away. Buford and Wells, former Libbey High School teammates, met again on the court last night, only this time ... Read More

It has been an unlikely journey for Dane Sanzenbacher. It was just a few years ago that playing at Ohio State seemed more of a fantasy than a reality.
Back then, Sanzenbacher was catching passes on Friday nights for the Central Catholic Fighting Irish. He had received only a few college football offers, until Sanzenbacher signed up for a bus trip.
The trip was organized by Cleveland Glenville High School coach Ted Ginn Sr. and he invited Sanzenbacher and other ... Read More

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Don't expect the Ohio State defensive front to offer a whole lot of comfort to new Iowa starting quarterback James Vandenberg on Saturday.
"You're definitely salivating to get to the quarterback," Buckeyes defensive end Cameron Heyward said.
In a somewhat topsy-turvy season, the one constant for the 10th-ranked Buckeyes has been an aggressive, fast and furious rush from its defensive linemen. The Ohio State defense is third in the nation at stopping the run, sixth in pass-efficiency ... Read More
