COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State football coaching staff has selected its weekly award winners for outstanding play in Saturday’s game against Southern California.Cornerback Devon Torrence was the Buckeyes’ defensive player of the week, with eight tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup. Punter Jon Thoma was the player of the week on the special units with four punts downed inside the 20. There was no offensive player of the week selected.

Scout team champions were: Offense: Mike Adams; Defense: Spencer Smith; Special Units: Nate Ebner.

The “Attack Force” award went to defensive lineman Cameron Heyward. The Jack Tatum Big Hit of the week was delivered by Dan Herron. There was no Jim Parker lineman of the week selected.

Ohio State (1-1) visits Cleveland Browns Stadium Saturday to face Toledo (1-1) in a noon game that will be televised by ESPN Plus. Check local listings for the station carrying the game in your area.
