COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State women’s basketball team, ranked third in the nation, is suspending two of its seniors — including two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Shavelle Little — for the first three games of the season.

The suspensions, announced Wednesday night by coach Jim Foster, are a result of what a university statement termed “an NCAA secondary rules violation.”

Little and Cherise Daniel will be permitted to practice.
