By: Adam Rittenberg (ESPN.com) — First off, congrats to the Purdue Boilermakers and head coach Danny Hope, who notched a well-deserved 26-18 victory after so many weeks of near misses.

Purdue capitalized on opportunities and mounted several impressive drives against a very talented Ohio State defense.

Moving onto the Buckeyes, they totally deserved this. Their offense has been a mess for most of the last two seasons, and Terrelle Pryor’s development continues to be stunted. Less-gifted quarterbacks seem to be making a lot more progress than Pryor at this point. Today’s game is a major indictment of Jim Tressel and his offensive coaching staff. There’s no way to sugarcoat it.

When you combine a lack of production with turnovers, it’s a recipe for disaster, and Ohio State couldn’t hold onto the ball today. The run game did absolutely nothing, continuing a troubling trend, and Pryor put the defense in too big of a hole.

The Buckeyes are no longer top dogs in the Big Ten. That label now belongs to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
