Harris’ fourth interception was particularly painful, as it came after Miami had driven 70 yards with the second-half kickoff and gotten to the Ohio State 9.
However, Harris threw across the middle and the ball was intercepted by Buckeyes star defensive lineman Cameron Heyward at the 5. Heyward rumbled for 80 yards to the UM 15, and, two plays later, Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor ran it in from 13 yards out.
The Hurricanes quarterback did come back to find tight end Chase Ford for a 9-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter, drawing UM to within 12 points.
Devin Barclay, who made a school-record-tying five field goals, made three kicks in the second quarter as the Buckeyes piled up 23 points to grab a 26-17 lead at halftime.
Travis Benjamin’s weaving 79-yard punt return had given Miami its second 80-plus-yard return touchdown of the day and got the Hurricanes to within 20-17 against Ohio State with 3:04 left in the second quarter.
Harris’ second interception had led to the Buckeyes’ second touchdown as Ohio State scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter and grabbed a 20-10 lead…..
