COLUMBUS, Ohio — A judge ruled on Wednesday that former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett can travel out of state to tryout for a professional football team.

Clarett, who was released from prison in the spring, will be allowed to travel to Nebraska to tryout with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League, 10TV’s Maureen Kocot reported.

A hearing on the matter originally scheduled for next week was bumped up to Wednesday afternoon.

Clarett, 26, left prison after serving more than three years for aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. As part of his release agreement, Clarett was forbidden from leaving Ohio.
