Jordan Whiting, LB, 6-1, 230

Louisville, Ky. (Trinity)

3.5 stars (average of Scout and Rivals ranking)

Whiting was the first player to commit to this Ohio State class, giving his pledge to the Buckeyes on Sept. 1, 2007, the first day teams could make official offers to Class of 2009 recruits.

At a Ohio State camp last summer, Whiting and future 2009 classmates Storm Klein and Adam Homan were all placed together as a linebacker group and the bonding started. He’d like to play middle linebacker for the Buckeyes

He made 102 tackles as a senior, led his team in tackles three seasons and won a state title all four years of his high school career.

Here are some shots of Whiting in action.

The Lexington Herald-Leader has a video from the before this season about Whiting, including some action from practice.
