Ohio State’s mission to replace Chris “Beanie” Wells likely won’t include heralded recruit Carlos Hyde this season.

The 6-1, 230-pound running back from Naples, Fla., expects to enroll in a prep school and focus on raising overseas online pharmacy his ACT score. He needs to score a 17 on the exam, which isn’t given again in Florida until Sept. 12, the date of Ohio State’s mega matchup against USC.

Hyde told the Naples Daily News that he’s going to focus on the ACT and hopefully enroll at Ohio State in January.

“I think I’m going to miss the season and just focus on passing the ACT,” Hyde said. “I think I’m going to go to prep school in Virginia and just continue to get ready for the test.”

Buckeyes coaches recommended Fork Union Military Academy and Hargrave Military Academy, both in Virginia, as destinations for Hyde, who has reportedly scored a 15 on the ACT.

This obviously isn’t good news for Ohio State, but barring a swell of injuries, Dan Herron and Brandon Saine should be able to handle the carries load this fall. Incoming freshman Jaamal Berry also could help, pending his legal issues and any playing-time penalties stemming from a drug-possession charge.
