By: Sean Jackson (Examiner.com) — Has this rivalry lost its edge? In the 90’s Michigan dominated the Buckeyes. This decade has been owned by the Buckeyes. Coach Jim Tressel is 7-1 against the team up north.
For Michigan this game is their season. If they win they’re bowl eligible. It also legitimizes their season and puts head coach Rich Rod in Michigan’s good graces. A team that has nothing to lose is the most dangerous so the Buckeyes will have to be prepared for the challenge.
If Tressel’s 7-1 mark against Michigan isn’t impressive enough listen to his players. Shortly after the Iowa game they were already talking about Michigan. Tressel has an uncanny ability to prepare his players for this game. This game also creates some big time Buckeye performances. Think Troy Smith in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Keys to the game
The game will come down to Michigan’s offense against Ohio State’s defense. Michigan’s defense has struggled so they’ll have to put points up to keep this close. Michigan’s quarterbacks Tate Forcier and Denard Robinson can run and have the ability to get outside the pocket to…..
