Like the first time with anything, there were good moments and bad moments.
But in their season opener, mostly the Buckeyes were just happy to breathe a sigh of relief.
There were times in Ohio State’s 31-27 victory over Navy on Saturday, when the Buckeyes looked pretty slick. Like when sophomore quarterback Terrelle Pryor showed off his athleticism and some savvy decisions on his way to passing for a touchdown and rushing for another, completing 14-of-21 passes for 174 yards.
Or when tight end Jake Ballard suddenly became Pryor’s favorite passing target with three big catches for 51 yards.
But there was also plenty of cause for concern, as the Buckeyes needed every inch in Saturday’s buying prescription drugs online without a prescription near-loss, and were most thankful for junior linebacker Brian Rolle’s interception and 99-yard return with 2:23 left that thwarted Navy’s attempt at tying the game.
The Midshipmen’s triple option attack proved troublesome for Ohio State’s season debut — whether because the attack is so unique or because the Buckeyes were looking ahead to next weekend’s contest against USC.
Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs led the slippery attack with 83 yards on 18 carries, adding 156 yards passing on 9-of-13 attempts. His 85-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter was the third-longest in Navy’s history.
