Ohio State fans have heard it before. BCS doesn’t stand for Bowl Championship Series. It stands for Buckeyes Can’t Score.
After Saturday’s performance against a struggling Purdue defense, Ohio State did nothing to squash that notion.
The offense didn’t score a touchdown in a 16-3 win. The only touchdown came off a blocked punt return.
Looking back at previous games, things haven’t been much better.
There was the debacle at Southern Cal with the offense getting just three points, the late ... Read More

COLUMBUS, Ohio — What's brewing today with the 2008 Ohio State Buckeyes ...
BUCKEYES BUZZ:@ Ohio State is apparently stuck in neutral in the polls.
The Buckeyes remained at No. 12 for the second week in a row after Saturday's 16-3 win over Purdue.

For the second consecutive week Ohio State came in at No. 12 in the AP Poll and No. 11 in the Coaches' Poll. And for the second consecutive week, the Big Ten mailbag filled up with messages from frustrated Buckeyes fans.
Why isn't Ohio State moving up in the rankings? The Buckeyes have, after all, won four consecutive games since their disastrous performance against USC.
The simplistic and partially true answer is that the voters are sick of ... Read More

The stars of Ohio State's offense were clearly frustrated following Saturday's 16-3 victory against Purdue.
The Buckeyes' offense, which failed to reach the end zone, was inconsistent at best and terrible at worst.
Blame for the lack of production was put on the offensive line and on the struggles of freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
"I guess you could say he's (Pryor) struggling to a certain extent," running back Chris "Beanie" Wells said.
Pryor finished the game passing 10-for-14 for 97 yards ... Read More

For the first time this season, Ohio State's defense lived up to its high expectations as it held Purdue's offense out of the end zone in Saturday's 16-3 victory.
Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, the Boilermakers accomplished the very same feat.
Ohio State's offense struggled mightily to get any sort of momentum going as it tallied just 222 yards. Even more disappointing was the fact Purdue entered the game as the nation's 108th ranked defense.
"There was a moment where you ... Read More

COLUMBUS - It looked like the perfect time for a statement game by Ohio State when it played Purdue on Saturday.
It looked like the sort of game in which OSU possibly could come out strong, take a big halftime lead, and put something like 40 points on the scoreboard against a team that ranked last in the Big Ten in every major defensive category.
It was a chance for the No. 12 Buckeyes to put some distance between ... Read More
