Columbus- Old school is officially odd in the Big Ten, and Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema not only takes pride in that, he hopes to exploit it.
Like a hardened old rhino in a conference zoo filling up with cheetahs and antelope, Wisconsin won't apologize for its power and has no plans to incorporate the spread offense, which has crept to some significant degree into every conference offense other than Wisconsin and Iowa.

Columbus- Terrelle Pryor's personality has been as much of a topic heading into his first road game as a starter Saturday as his passing skills.
Is he tough enough? Is he calm enough? Can he handle Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium? He expressed no doubt after Saturday's win over Minnesota about playing in Madison, Wis., and teammates say they have no questions after watching the way the freshman quarterback handles his business.
"Everybody has seen Terrelle ... Read More

COLUMBUS — Ohio State has a multidimensional individual lining up at tailback. There is Chris “Beanie” Wells the draft horse who can erode the starch right out of a defense by relentlessly pounding at them while carrying his team on his back.
Then there’s Beanie the cheerleader, who can rah rah and root with the best of them when injury keeps him off the field. And Beanie the philosopher, who sees the game through his own customized prism.

1. The real deal
It's OK to admit it. Come on, you can do it.
All that preseason hype, all that publicity for a guy who hadn't taken a snap of football at the collegiate level, was all worth it.
Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is the real deal. And he's only five games into his college career.
Earlier this week, Ohio State tailback Chris Wells spoke of still winning the Heisman Trophy this year. Uh, Chris? You're not even the ... Read More

For Ohio State fans who watch Wisconsin tight end Travis Beckum on Saturday and wonder, "Why don't the Buckeyes have someone like that?" be aware that Ohio State just might.
I hesitate to spend much time writing about Ohio State throwing to the tight end, but with Beckum, and with what Ohio State could have in freshman Jake Stoneburner, it goes beyond being a tight end.
Beckum, who was recruited by Ohio State, is actually listed as ... Read More

First question, before last weekend's game escapes us, is what did you like better, the Pryor Shoulder (top clip) or the Wells Hurdle (bottom clip)?
When Terrelle Pryor lowered his shoulder on the sideline last Saturday and dropped Minnesota linebacker Rex Sharpe, he earned himself a nomination for Ohio State's Jack Tatum Hit of the Week.
"That's good," OSU coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday. "I'd rather have him be there than on their Tatum list. He likes to ... Read More

Madison - As was the case at Michigan, it appears the University of Wisconsin will be without one of its top offensive players this week.
Junior tight end Garrett Graham, who did not play in the loss to the Wolverines because of slight fracture in his right foot, did not practice Wednesday or today and likely will not play Saturday against visiting Ohio State. Graham was again wearing a walking boot after practice today.
"He's basically got a ... Read More

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - What's brewing today with the 2008 Ohio State Buckeyes ...
BUCKEYES BUZZ:@ In the wake of the Buckeyes' loss to USC, there were lots of calls on Columbus sports-talk radio for the firing of Ohio State offensive coordinator Jim Bollman.
Two wins have quieted that talk.
Bollman, who also coaches the linemen, was asked this week if a great running back can cover up the mistakes of a mediocre offensive line. Here's his response: "I think ... Read More

When Ohio State guard Jim Cordle discusses the team's new-look offense, he finds himself posing several rhetorical questions.
Cordle is happy he's not the one who needs to find the answers.
One of the questions came to Cordle in the second quarter of last Saturday's game against Minnesota. He had sealed off his man and caught a glimpse of Buckeyes running back Chris "Beanie" Wells hurdling Gophers safety Kyle Theret.
"He obviously can push off that foot now," Cordle said ... Read More
