By: Sean Jackson (Examiner.com) — After a stunning 63-61 loss to Purdue, Ohio State had some examining to do. Leading up to the loss the Buckeyes were winning games a lot closer than they wanted.
Last night provided them with an opportunity to play well and regain momentum.
Much like the men’s team, the Buckeyes look to play their best basketball in the transition game. When confined to half court play, the game slows down and they struggle. The Buckeyes were able to run last night and this proved to be the difference.
The Gophers hung around for a while but they couldn’t slow down the Buckeyes, as Ohio State pulled through the Gopher’s first half surge en route to an 81-58 win.
The Buckeyes were led by Samantha Prahalis who had 23 points. Jantel Lavender had 20.
With the win the Buckeyes are 21-2 overall, and 9-1 in conference play. They play at Indiana on Sunday. Tip off is 12:00.
