It appears the eligibility roster at Ohio State for the Rose Bowl has changed once again and the Buckeyes could find themselves down three more players.
After reports circulated that Rob Rose was academically ineligible to the in the Rose Bowl, a few days later sources said extra work on Rose’s part would allow him to play. Now several news organizations and outlets, including the Columbus Dispatch and ESPN.com, are saying that sources within the Buckeye camp indicate that Rose is now in violation of team rules, leaving the senior home for the game.
Another senior, Ray Small, as well as sophomore running back Bo DeLande, would be ineligible because of a violation of team rules as well.
The university nor Coach Jim Tressel have issued an officle statement concerning the player issue.
“I’m not sure yet,” Small’s father Ken Small told the Columbus Dispatch last night when asked whether it was true.
Ray Small and Rob Rose could not be reached for comment. DeLande’s father confirmed to WBNS-10TV that his son would not make the trip.
Ohio State already knows it will be without No. 4 wide receiver Duron Carter for the Rose Bowl Game when they face the Oregon Ducks Jan. 1 in Pasadena, California.
