he Golden Bear has spoken. And when he speaks, you listen. On Monday Ohio State legend Jack Nicklaus shared his thoughts on the Tressel situation and his supposed ill-advised handling of his job to protect his players. Finally, someone with Buckeye brass has come out and spoke some truth.
The 18 time major champion and first player to win the NCAA and Amateur championship in the same year defended the coach by reminding folks that it’s very possible that Tressel sat on his sword for the university.
It isn’t someone within the game of college football making these remarks, but it takes guts for an alumnus to come out and make a statement like that. A bold one that had to come outside the sport. But it brings up a good point. Where has the heat for President Gee and Athletic Director Gene Smith gone? Why was Tressel hushed at his……
