Head coaches looking for an opportune time to punt troubled players out of their programs need to be warming up their fax machines, pronto: A slew of high- to mid-profile transfers from Georgia, UNC, and Miami will provide ample cover this week. To that end, wave goodbye to Dorian Bell, the redshirt Ohio State sophomore thought ready to compete for a starting nod at outside linebacker in 2011. After pulling down a season-long suspension from Jim Tressel for his third violation of the same team rule (not his first stint in the Buckeye coaches’ doghouse), Bell will reportedly return to his home state of Pennsylvania and enroll at Pitt.
Bell is Todd Graham’s problem now, but not immediately: A I-A to I-A transfer athlete, he’ll have to ride the bench for a year, which of course what he would have been doing in……
