Sources within the Ohio State football circle are saying that Terrelle Pryor was no longer “wanted” on the team. These same sources are saying that some of the team members feel that Pryor was a major contributor to the down fall of former coach Jim Tressel and that Pryor would be a distraction if around.
“He did not want to be a a distraction to his teammates,” Pryor’s lawyer Larry James said of him. “This is something he came to consider after much thought.”
The former quarterback’s career with the Buckeyes seemed very promising and full of opportunity and now suddenly ends scandal-ridden and full of investigations.
Director of Athletics Gene Smith: “We understand Terrelle’s decision and wish him well in this next phase of his life. We hope he returns to The Ohio State University one day to finish his degree.”
Head Coach Luke Fickell: “I was notified this evening that Terrelle has decided to pursue a professional career. I wish him the best in his pursuits.”
Pryor’s Statement via his lawyer Larry James: “In the best interest of my teammates, I have decided to forego my senior year of football at the Ohio State University.”
