Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel apologized to Buckeyes fans Monday for decisions that have left him suspended for part of next season and his program open to further NCAA punishments.

“What I would like to say to this part of Buckeye Nation is I sincerely apologize for what we’ve been through this recent time,” Tressel said, according to the Canton Repository and the Associated Press. “I apologize I wasn’t able to find the one to partner with and perhaps handle our difficult and complex situation we have.”

Tressel made the comments at a Pro Football Hall of Fame luncheon in Canton. He has appeared as a guest at the luncheon since his days coaching Youngstown State…..
