Fifty-six players were on the official NFL list of collegians leaving school early for the NFL Draft, which was released Wednesday.

For the first time since 2003, an Ohio State player wasn’t among the early departures. As the five Buckeyes suspended by the NCAA for the start of the 2011 season promised before the Sugar Bowl, none of them — Terrelle Pryor, DeVier Posey, Dan Herron, Mike Adams and Solomon Thomas — left school for the pros, and Mike Brewster, after some legitimate consideration, chose to return though he may have been the highest-rated center in the draft.

Seven players from the Big Ten declared for the draft, including three from Illinois — running back Mikel Leshoure, linebacker Martez Wilson and defensive lineman Corey Liuget……
