University of Wisconsin athletic department officials are looking into an allegation by Jared Sullinger, a freshman forward for the Ohio State men’s basketball team, that somebody spit on him Saturday at the Kohl Center.
Sullinger, a 6-9 forward, wrote on his Twitter account about an hour after the No. 1 Buckeyes were upset 71-67 by No. 13 Wisconsin that he was spit on before and after the game.
“Yes, we’re looking at it,” UW assistant athletic director for external relations Justin Doherty said Sunday. “We were made aware of it (Saturday) night. That’s about where it is right now.”
Sullinger, who finished the game with 19 points and 12 rebounds, first tweeted: “#BuckeyeNation if you ever decide to rush the court. Don’t ever spit on the opponents. Just a lil tip from me to you.”
Not long after that first post, Sullinger also tweeted, “To be spit on is just nasty. On top of that in my Face. Before and after the game. Smh. I just kept walking. More fuel to the fire.”
What is confusing is that…….
