By: Zac Jackson (FoxSportsOhio.com) — Monday brought news that Canton McKinley High School defensive end Se’Von Pittman, one of the most coveted college football recruits in the country in the class of 2012, has chosen Michigan State.

1. The Spartans’ gain is a loss for Ohio State, which has basically built a wall around the state’s top recruits in recent years and parlayed that talent into an incredible run of success. Former Ohio State assistant Mark Dantonio is building a contender at Michigan State, and picking up players like Pittman will speed that process. Almost every Big Ten school recruits Ohio heavily, and it’s safe to say opposing coaches see Jim Tressel’s exit and Ohio State’s uncertainty as the door being cracked open. They’re trying to kick it in.

2. Pittman is a stud. Various recruiting websites list him in the neighborhood of 6-foot-4, 230 pounds. He’s still growing, and he could potentially be anything from an outside linebacker and/or edge rusher to a guy who plays inside on the defensive line. But it’s not……
