By John Kampf (MorningJournal.com) — COLUMBUS — Though a lot can happen between now and the season-opener on Sept. 3 against Akron, here’s a look at who started Saturday on both sides of the ball at Ohio State’s spring game.
• Offense: QB Joe Bauserman, RB Dan Herron, FB Zach Boren, TE Jake Stoneburner, WR DeVier Posey and Corey “Philly” Brown, OT Mike Adams and Andrew Norwell; OG Corey Linsley and Jack Mewhort; C Mike Brewster.
• Defense: DL Nate Williams, Jonathan Hankins, Garrett Goebel, John Simon; LB Andrew Sweat and Etienne Sabino; CB Dominic Clarke and Travis Howard; S Ohrian Johnson and Nate Oliver; Star Chad Hagan.
Herron, Posey and Adams will all sit out the first five games along with Terrelle Pryor and DE Solomon Thomas.
Walking wounded
Tressel said earlier this week that anyone who might further injure or re-injure an already existing problem would not play on Saturday.
That was a long list, especially in the secondary where 10 defensive backs sat out the scrimmage. Sidelined were Tyler Moeller, C.J. Barnett, Christian Bryant, Jamie Wood, Corey “Pittsburgh” Brown, Dionte Allen, Zach Domicone, Donnie Evege, Adam Griffin and Nate Ebner.
Linebackers Scott McVey and Storm Klein were also held out of action, along with defensive end Melvin Fellows, who was injured in last week’s scrimmage……
