By: Todd Porter (FridayNightOhio.com) — GlenOak running back Bri’onte Dunn, who has committed to Ohio State with high school senior season to be played, is still a Buckeye … for now.
In light of head coach Jim Tressel’s sudden resignation on Monday, Dunn said he is keeping is options open. He could become Stark County’s all-time leading rusher next season.
“My grandma called me (Monday) morning and told me turn on ESPN,” Dunn said. “That’s the first I heard of it. So far, yeah, I’m still committed to Ohio State. I didn’t think he was going to get fired.”
Tressel returned from vacation on Sunday and talked with Athletics Director Gene Smith about the status of the football program. He resigned Sunday night, and handed in a formal resignation letter Monday morning before meeting with current players.
Dunn said he had not heard from any one from Ohio State on Monday.
“I visited Michigan and I”m going to visit Penn State,” Dunn said. “I’m just keeping my options open at this point. I didn’t think anything was going to happen this soon. I thought maybe something in August and I would wait and see what happens.”
