By Tim Bielik via BleacherReport.com -- Arguably the biggest recruiting battle between any two teams in all of college football is between Ohio State's Urban Meyer and Michigan's Brady Hoke.
Both coaches are somewhat new to their schools as Hoke has only been at Michigan for one season and Meyer is three months away from his first game as OSU's top dog.
But these two men have already had some great recruiting battles in the last six months since Meyer's hire, including some great ... Read More

By Angelique S. Chengelis via The Detroit News -- Ann Arbor— Dhani Jones said the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry has been "reestablished" with Brady Hoke and Urban Meyer coaching the respective schools.
Jones, of course, is partial to Hoke, who was on Michigan's defensive staff when Jones was with the Wolverines.
"I'm excited about what Brady brings to the table," the former linebacker said Friday during the Mott Hospital radiothon on WTKA. "There's no coach out there right now in college football that's better than ... Read More

BY DAVID BRIGGS via ToledoBlade.com -- Ohio State once seemed an unlikely candidate to lead the campaign for alcohol reform in college athletics.
A decade ago, the school had a nationally ranked party scene -- No. 12 according to Playboy magazine -- to go along with its powerhouse football program. The team and its fans regularly seized headlines for their abuse of alcohol -- from quarterback Steve Bellisari's arrest for driving nearly three times over the legal limit the morning before his final home ... COLUMBUS, Ohio -- While Urban Meyer coached at Florida from 2005 to 2010, the Gators played as many as three rivalry games a season -- against Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee.
"You always like to say, 'That's the game,'" Meyer said. "But as soon as you say Tennessee is the game or Georgia is the game, then it's like, 'Well, LSU's not a game?' It was tough down there."
As Meyer prepares to begin his first season as Ohio State's ... Read More

By: Tom Dienhart via btn.com -- Clemson’s Dabo Swinney is a genius–at least when it comes to spicing up spring football games. Let’s face it: These spring “games” often are little more than glorified scrimmages to appease and tease fans. The interest? Minimal—aside from the true cognoscenti.
Many coaches don’t like them, preferring to run a scrimmage or just conduct another practice for fear of injury. Lack of depth is another reason many coaches don’t like intrasquad scrimmages, as it often makes it ... Read More

By: Andy Evans via thelantern.com -- It only took two minutes into Tuesday’s Big Ten teleconference for the Big Ten’s first representative, Michigan coach Brady Hoke, to receive his first question about the arrival of Ohio State’s new coach Urban Meyer and his thoughts on how Meyer will affect the rivalry.
“Obviously you’ve got two storied programs who have a lot of great tradition and, as far as I know, it’s never been about the coaches, it’s always been about those two schools,” ... Read More

By Myron Medcalf (ESPN.com) -- INDIANAPOLIS – Overview: Pure dominance for Ohio State. That’s all. The Buckeyes jumped out to a 16-3 lead. They shot 51 percent from the field on their way to a halftime lead of 34-21. They held Michigan to a 1-for-13 clip from beyond the arc in the first half, too.
The carnage continued in the second half. Five minutes after halftime, the Buckeyes possessed a 20-point lead. The Wolverines could not neutralize Ohio State’s talent as they were dismissed ... Read More
